Our Trip to Ft Worth

Rylie walking to Kim!

Rylie, Ryan & Reese in their new toy I got for them. They love it!

We left Friday morning & headed to Ft Worth. I had several stores I needed to go to for things we were needing. We also ate lunch at Uncle Julio's--my favorite!!!! Then went to Ronald McDonald house. The collect tabs off of coke cans. It requires less room & they aren't as messy. Racheal has been saving since last year when we stayed there. We went by & turned them in. It was great to see Tricia again. They had also finished their kitchen remodel. It looked great. Then we headed to the motel. Racheal was so excited. She loves to stay in motels. They had an indoor pool so we went swimming. It was the triplets first time to go swimming. They loved it. Rylie loved to splash just like he does in the bath tub. He was the only one that had wet hair. We also got into the hot tub. They loved the bubbles. Reese kept trying to eat them. For supper we went down stairs at the motel & had pizza delivered. The lady at the front desk was getting high chairs out & asked if we were the grandparents or parents?!?! OK I know I feel old, but really do I look that bad????? I also get the bad mommy award. I sat Reese on the bed to change her diaper. Then I went in the other room & totally forgot about putting her on the bed. Then I hear a scream. She fell off & has a black eye! Sorry Reese!!!!

Saturday morning we went to the NICU reunion at Harris Methodist. We saw several nurses that the babies had. One nurse stopped Randall because she remembered Reeese. She said she was the first baby she had ever bagged! Great!! Glad I didn't know that at the time. Then we went to the Cowgirl Museum which is also temporaraly housing part of the science museum. When we got their 2 or the 3 triplets were asleep, so Randall stayed in the van with them & Racheal & I went to the museum. She had a lot of fun. She road a bucking horse. We had a great time, but very exhausted. We let the babies feed themselves at the restaurants. We appologize to all the restaurant workers! We left a huge mess everywhere we went!!

Tiny Steps

Rylie took 2 steps last night & has done it a couple of times today. I am sure it won't be long before he is off & running. Ryan & Reese have both let go & stood without holding on to anything.

Tomorrow we are going to Ft Worth. The original plan was to go to the zoo & then Saturday morning we have the NICU reunion. I am so excited to see all the nurses again! Since it is going to be cold we had to change plans. I think tomorrow afternoon we are going to swim at the indoor pool at the motel & then Saturday afternoon go to the Science museum.

One year ago today, Reese had her surgery. What a scary day that was! It was also a huge blessing. It was the day she began to turn around & improve. She has come a long way in this short year. She still has her little scar on her back to remind us.

Eye appointment!

The triplets had an eye appointment today in Abilene. They had a great appointment. He said they looked good & don't have to go back for a year! Yeah!!! So excited. We ate at Red Lobster for lunch. It was the triplets first restaurant meal. They loved it!!! They had cheese sticks, bread, fish, mac & cheese & mashed potatoes. I think they ate more than I did. It was so much easier this time not having to give them bottles for an hour before we actually got to eat!

Bowling!!

We had a blast bowling yesterday with Racheal. She used the bumper pads & a ramp. We tried to show her how to do the granny shot, but she wasn't getting it. A couple of times she didn't make it all the way to the pins. She did great with the ramp. She got a couple of strikes & even won the second game. All I can say about my game-Thank goodness for bumpers!! It was kinda of nice to just be the 3 of us for a little while & forget how crazy our house is! But Racheal said she still loved her brothers & sister.

When we got home, Kim said Ryan had another tooth on the bottom right. So now he has 7!

Lovely bowling shoes!!

Walking & Talking!

Rylie is a big waver these days. He waves & says bye-bye. He is also saying Racheal. Adult meal times are also a lot of fun! They all go back & forth between Randall & I or Kim & I seeing who has the best food. Rylie also took 1 step today without holding on. It also looks like we are going to have some wrestling matches on our hands.

Not much!

Well not much going on here! Rylie did start waving bye last weekend & Reese clapped on Thursday. Rylie is letting go & standing on his own more & more. They aren't eating baby food anymore. That makes it a little easier on me.

Randall finally got temporary privileges at Abilene & worked his first night Friday night. He said he thinks he will like it. Can't wait till he is there full time!

The triplets at 1 year!

The triplets had their 1 year appointment today. They all got 4 shots each, but they took them like champs. They can start having milk now. Yeah!!! So we will start making that transition. Here are their stats: Rylie 22 lbs 6 oz, 28 1/4 inches; Reese 20 lbs 11 oz, 27 1/2 inches; Ryan 22 lbs 0.5 oz, 29 1/4 inches.

I want to document everything I can think of about the triplets now that they are one so here goes.

Usually one of them wakes up around 7, but I don't go get them until 7:30. By then everyone is awake. Then we eat breakfast, usually oatmeal or pancakes. They play until around 9:30 then they take a nap (usually about 30 minutes). They eat lunch at 11:30 & supper at 4:30. They eat raviolis, noodles, ground up chicken, peas, veg-all, carrots & green beans cut up small. The still eat their baby food fruit that I make. I tried giving them small pieces of fruit & they spit them out. The eat Gerber puffs for snack around 2 or 2:30. They are all able to pick them up the puffs & feed themselves now. Sometimes they go down for a nap right after lunch & sometimes they play for a little while & then go down for a nap. Just depends on their mood. The only bottle they get is at night, hopefully soon we will get to get rid of that. They all say mama, dadda & bubba.

Rylie: First born (also the reason they were born when they were). He is a mommy's boy. He has the greatest smile. He was the first one to start pulling up. He wants to stand up all the time. He will cruise holding on to furniture. He has 5 teeth: 3 on top & 2 on bottom & working on 1 more on the top. He has brown eyes. He is doing great with his sippy cup. Loves his water! He will growl at meal time if you aren't feeding him fast enough. As soon as you put him in his bed, he sits up.

Reese: Second born. Until recently she was not affection to anyone. If someone would hold her, she went to them. But lately she has been hugging & kissing us more. Reese has the fattest little cheeks you just want to squeeze them. She has 4 teeth: 2 on top & bottom. Reese still has really blue eyes. She still has her hemangioma on her leg, but it is getting lighter & smoother. Hopefully in another year it will be gone. Her 2 scars are getting less noticeable all the time. The one her arm from the cut down is worse than the one on her back from the surgery. We originally thought she was going to be left handed, but is starting to use her right hand more. Maybe there is still hope for her!

Ryan: The baby. He has been a daddy's boy for a while, but recently has been loving up to mommy more. When I leave to run errands, he usually cries or calls for mommy the entire time. He has 6 teeth: 4 on top, 2 on bottom. When he smiles, his eyes light up. He loves it when daddy throws him up in the air. Ryan also still has blue eyes. He is the most laid back. He likes to crawl away from the others & be my himself.

Weekend pictures!

Sorry I haven't had time to write. It has been a crazy weekend. Saturday I had to finish decorating & get everything picked up. The party was wonderful. We missed our friends that couldn't make it, but had a great time. The babies all had their own little cakes & loved them especially Reese. She ate almost half of her cake. She would fuss if she couldn't get more of it. Thanks to everyone for all their wonderful gifts. Sunday was their baby dedication. It also went wonderful. I got them cute sailor suits to wear. They looked adorable. Racheal also sang "I am a Promise". She did an amazing job. I was so proud of her!

We also had some sad news. My Grandmother passed away Saturday & her funeral was yesterday morning. She is now in a better place. She had alzheimers & hadn't known who anyone was in several years. Also a couple of weeks ago she had a stroke & was just laying there. Glad she is no longer suffering, but we will miss her. I have great memories of working with her every Saturday at Ben Franklins when I was a kid. She paid me $5 for the day & I thought I was making a ton of money!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend! A friend took pictures because I knew it would be crazy. I haven't gotten the disc from her yet. When I do, I will post more pictures.
